In 1779 the young United States suffered it’s most significant naval defeat until Pearl Harbor, largely due to the fear of the commander of the expedition, and his focusing on the wrong details.

In Luke’s account of the Resurrection, the disciples missed its significance because they were consumed with fear, doubt, and a need to come up with their own solutions, focusing on the wrong details. We do this too. We see the pain and brokenness of the world around us and get focused in on either the hopelessness, or the need to fix things ourself, and miss the fact that God is calling us to see and respond to what He is doing; to participate in His mission to redeem the broken creation.
