This year for our sermon series on the culture, values and mission of Grace Pres. Church we’re going to work through the book of Galatians, one of the places where the doctrine of grace is laid out most extensively, and ask what it looks like for  a local church to be characterized by a culture of grace.

In the opening of this letter Paul shows the level of importance of this doctrine by his level of frustration at the Galatians having moved away from it. Like people trapped in a flood, we need to be rescued by Christ’s grace; but like Anne in the movie Anne of Green Gables when her dory sank, we–like the Galatians–don’t want to admit that we need to be rescued.
