Curran Bishop is our lead pastor. He and his wife, Abby, have four children, Ellie (5), Hudson (3), and twins, Jack and Pete (1). He enjoys reading, hiking, camping, biking, sailing, paddling, building boats, and hanging out with his family. He is working on a dissertation in early American Puritanism and the concept of religious conversion for a PhD in Historical Theology from Concordia Seminary in St. Louis. Wyatt George is our former pastor and current pastor of missions. He is a founder of The Tentmaker Project, an economic development ministry in Uganda, and an adjunct professor at Sangre De Cristo Seminary in Colorado. Wyatt and his wife, Betsy, have four children and seven grandchildren.
Joel Hébert is a member of the session and a former pastor. He has a D. Min. from Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis, and teaches at Morthland College. Joel and his family are so dedicated to the church that they commute all the way from Cape Girardeau every week! Joel and his wife, Connie, have two adult children, Calvin and Ally.
Paul Ploegman is our clerk of session, a local pediatrician, and also serves on the board of Trinity Christian School. Paul and his wife, Chris, have been at Grace since the late 1980s and have four adult children, Adam, Claire, Noah, and Anna.
Dan Stearns is a member of the session and also our treasurer. A retired officer with the Carbondale Police and a former deacon, Dan can often be found working around the church doing an enormous variety of tasks that keep things running smoothly. Dan and his wife, Louise, have two children, and three grandchildren.
